A German student Jorg, who goes by his Chinese name Yue Kaihan, graduate of the class of 2017 from Institute of China Studies, Zhejiang University, cycled 5,800 kilometers across China to explore what exactly the Chinese Dream is among ordinary people. His footprints have spread across 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, from the northernmost city of Mohe to the southernmost city of Sanya. At the end of his journey, Yue documented what he saw in a 31,000-word long essay which he named “Ordinary people’s Chinese dreams”. His story has become a hit on the internet.

In recent years, as the exchanges and cooperation in education between the east and west becomes more frequent, the international strategy adopted by China’s institutions of higher education has attracted extensive attention of the foreign academia and media. Lately, mainstream websites of more than 20 countries have published articles entitled China’s Top University Unleashes Innovation Vitality by Going International to report the internationalization initiative put forward by Zhejiang University.

On November 25th, Professor Wu Zhaohui, President of Zhejiang University, led a delegation to visit International Campus, accompanied by Professor Song Yonghua, Executive Vice President of ZJU and Dean of International Campus, Professor He Lianzhen, Executive Vice Dean of International Campus, and Professor Fu Qiang, Assistant President of ZJU, Secretary of Party Working Committee, and Vice Dean of International Campus, ZJU.
