“The great ambition of a country needs to be carried by the whole ocean. To construct a nation with strong maritime power, all the citizens should enhance their awareness of the ocean and devote to it.” On Dec. 4th,2016, Prof. Chen Ying, a Qiushi distinguished professor from Zhejiang University and a top expert of Zhejiang Province, visited the residential college, international campus of ZJU and delivered a wonderful lecture titled “explore the ocean, exploit the ocean”.

On the evening of November 14, the Executive Dean of the Zhejiang University/University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Institute (the ZJU-UIUC Institute), Professor Philip T. Krein gave a lecture with the theme of College Life in the USA, as the forth “Distinguished Lecture 2016, Residential College”. Many of the students as well as the staff numbers gathered to seize this precious opportunity to have a glimpse of the students’ life in America.

“你我相逢在黑夜的海上，你有你的，我有我的方向。你记得也好，最好你忘掉，在这交会时互放的光芒”，“We meet on the sea of dark night，You on your way，I on mine．Remember if you will，Or， better still，forget. The light exchanged in this encounter．”11月19日下午，浙江大学国际校区的中外学子一同登上2016徐志摩音乐诗会的舞台，在悠扬的音乐中，用双语朗诵了徐志摩著名的短诗《偶然》。

11月14日晚，国际校区书院“名师讲堂”第四讲在书院多功能厅举行。浙江大学-伊利诺伊大学厄巴纳香槟分校（ZJU-UIUC）联合学院外方执行院长Philip Krein教授为国际校区师生做了以美国大学生活为主题的精彩讲座。
