To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the national flag-raising ceremony was held on the International Campus, Zhejiang University.

The ceremony began at 7 a.m. in a solemn atmosphere. The national flag of China, the Five-starred Red Flag, was raised to the majestic sound of the national anthem. The color of the flag seemed more vivid in the cool autumn wind. On behalf of all those in attendance, Professor Fu Qiang, Assistant President of Zhejiang University, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Vice Dean of the International Campus, expressed heartfelt thanks to our nation. He said that, looking back on the history of our nation and Zhejiang University, we could find that the core of patriotism lives inside the spirit of Zhejiang University. “We shall advocate, and follow, the Communist Party of China and President Xi”, he said. Professor Fu also hoped all students would consider the future of the individual in connection with the future of the country. He sincerely wished all students could make positive contributions to our nation.
