The International Campus Academic Affairs Committee held its inaugural meeting in the Arts & Sciences Building on 16th March. Professor He Lianzhen, Dean of International Campus, ZJU presented an appointment letter to every committee member at the meeting, which signifies the official establishment of the Committee. Sixteen faculty members representing a wide range of academic areas from International Campus, Joint Institutes, and other colleges at ZJU serve on this first Academic Affair Committee. Professor Li Er-ping, Dean of ZJU-UIUC Institute was appointed as Director of the committee.
The Academic Affairs Committee is the highest faculty organization concerning academic affairs at International Campus, with its main responsibility being the consultation, review, evaluation, and supervision of major academic matters.
The establishment of Academic Affairs Committee marks a significant step for the Campus in the exploration of an academic governance system in line with international practices. Building on the strengths of academic expertise of its Chinese and foreign members, the committee will contribute significantly to the campus's teaching, research, and other academic affairs.
