RESEARCH PROJECTS:

Electro-Thermal Cantilever Probes. Fabrication failure analysis of cantilever probes led to an improved release process using a novel photopolymer layer developed for the etching process.

Micro Plasma Chamber. Assisted with the fabrication of a longitudinal micro-plasma chamber within a silicon wafer.

DARPA Water Desalinator. About the size of a suit-case, this highly efficient self-cleaning water desalinator was designed to set a new standard for water purification efficiency. (DARPA)

MEMS Water Filter. A photo-patterned membrane consisting of 2-3 micron holes for the absolute filtration of bacteria and spores from water.

Micro Gas Analyzer. Fabricated a carrier device to provide heating and signal distribution to a gas column separator and gas sensor array. (DARPA)

Nanoscale Droplet Printer (Nano-CEMMS). Team leader responsible for the fabrication of a nanomanufacturing tool-bit that can direct the chemical assembly of a diverse group of molecules on substrates and sense both position and composition of the nanoscale structures being created. (NSF)

Nanofluidic Devices for Recognition of Neurotoxins. Research team leader responsible for the fabrication of the micro-nano-fluidic chips used for the recognition of neurotoxins. (NIH)

Characterization of Transport in Single Nanopores. Researcher characterizing transport in nanopores by studying the properties of isolated single nanofluidic channels by measuring nanochannel flow and binding characteristics of individual fluorescent probe molecules. (NSF CAMPWS)
