Backup365 is a fundamental service provided by the campus to protect the data security of faculty and students within the Microsoft Office 365 platform. It ensures the safety of data within Office 365 mailboxes and OneDrive by performing regular, automated backups of email and cloud storage data, safeguarding against irreversible data loss.

Service Coverage

This service automatically performs regular backups of data from the following Office 365 applications

  •  INTL Mailbox: All emails, calendar events, contacts, and tasks within the faculty/student INTL mailbox.

  • OneDrive: All files and folders stored in the personal OneDrive.

Service Operation

To ensure service reliability and security, the operation mechanism is as follows:

  • Automated Backup: Backup tasks run silently in the background according to preset policies, requiring no user intervention.

  • Localized Storage: All backup data is stored in the campus's local data center, complying with data governance and compliance requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can this backup prevent me from accidentally deleting files?

A1: Yes, that is one of its core purposes. If you accidentally delete important emails or files and cannot recover them from the Office 365 "Recycle Bin," you can use Backup365 to restore them.

Q2: Can I view or download files from the backup at any time, like using a cloud drive?

A2: No. The backup system is a protected underlying facility and cannot synchronize your files in real-time like a cloud drive.

Q3: How often are backups performed?

A3: The backup frequency depends on the data type and policy. Currently, faculty and staff data is backed up on weekays, while student data is backed up on weekends.
