On the afternoon of February 17, ZJUI's first TA Training Workshop was successfully held in the A105 Auditorium of the teaching building. ZJUI Dean Li Erping, Vice Dean Ma Hao, and Assistant Dean Lu Qiang attended the meeting, along with more than 70 professors, assistant professors and administrative staff from ZJUI.
Professor Li Erping, Dean of ZJUI, first introduced the basic situation of our institute and put forward general requirements for the teaching assistants. Dean Li’s introduction gave the teaching assistants, especially the assistants who came to ZJUI for the first time, a deeper understanding of its unique and innovative multidisciplinary cross-education and research mode. Subsequently, Dean Li Erping and Vice Dean Ma Has also awarded a letter of appointment for each teaching assistant.
Volodymyr Kindratenko, an associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at UIUC, gave a lecture "How to Be a Good TA" for the TAs. His lecture involved interaction with teachers and students, cooperation with professors, language and other aspects to guide teaching assistants to enter a good working state efficiently and quickly, and promote teaching. Mr. Lu Qiang, Assistant Dean of ZJUI, gave a detailed introduction to the relevant policies and methods of the teaching assistant management in the institute, and also interacted with the teaching assistants answering their many questions. Later, teachers and teaching assistants of each class formed a group to specifically and discuss the teaching work of this semester.
The seminar ended in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, and it greatly benefited the participating TAs.
